CHAPTER I
Mirage began small — a portable stall in Okhla, New Delhi, run by Khalid Nizami and Shariq. No shop, no shelves, no advertising. A table, a row of bottles, and whoever stopped to smell them. What we had instead was patience: we let people take their time, try three, four, five oils on the wrist, and walk away without buying. Many of them came back.
CHAPTER II
Word moved the way it always does in Okhla — one person to the next. Customers began asking for fragrances by name, then buying two at a time, one for themselves and one to give away. That was the first sign that this was not a stall business. It was a house waiting to be built.
CHAPTER III
We started showing up where people gathered: corporate events, exhibitions, office lobbies, festival markets. Every table taught us something about what actually sells and what only sounds good. Bursa, Wadi Rum and African Leather emerged as the fragrances people came back for — and we followed them into other cities.
CHAPTER IV
During Ramadan we took Mirage to Instagram properly for the first time. Reviews from people who had bought at our stalls, reels shot on the counter, giveaways for the customers who had carried us this far. More than two thousand customers came through in that stretch alone, and the house stopped being a local secret.
CHAPTER V
Pure oil, no alcohol, no shortcuts. Fragrance that stays on skin through a full day and is still there on the collar the next morning. Priced so that a good attar is not a luxury reserved for a few. We would rather sell a fragrance twice to the same person than once to a stranger.
